is it possible to have a non hair growth disorder?

My friends legs are always really soft but she says she hasn't shaved in four months. She just says that her hair doesn't grow. Is that even possible?

  1. yes, it is. i know someone who also has the same thing pretty much. she doesn't grow hair on her arms and legs and armpits..i think that's it
  2. i once had a friend with alopecia. she just didn't grow any hair at all because of it. eventually i just couldn't help myself and i asked her if it grew at all, anywhere or if she just didn't grow it on her head. she was very courteous to me and since we were speaking from a medical standpoint answered my questions very thoroughly. for her, she didn't grow hair anywhere on her body. so she didn't get leg hair, pubic hair or hair in her armpits. she teased me about how much she saved not having to shave. (i get really thick, dark, sharp hair all over) other people with alopecia though may grow it in patches or on one body part but not the rest. it really depends on the extent of their condition.
